About Us
Working TogetherThe Coalition for Effective Change (CEC) was formed in 1993 as a non-partisan alliance of associations representing current and retired federal managers, executives, and professionals. CEC provides a channel for these public employees to contribute to the success of improving government. CEC meets with the executive branch officials to discuss efforts to improve government. CEC shares information with Congress and works with others on initiatives for government wide change. Actions
CEC has worked diligently for the adaption of change in significant issues across the government. Some of those recommendations are now in law and regulation:
The CEC associations represent close to 600,000 public employees. Individuals appointed by their associations meet to share information and to propose and take actions. Much of the CEC's work is done by committees that employ the experience and expertise of their members to study issues and prepare reports with findings and recommendations. Reports are furnished to member organizations, to the White House, the Congress, the Office of Management and Budget, the Office of Personal Management and other decision makers and interested parties. Committee reports may be found on our publications page. The Future With the introduction of the Administration's President's Management Agenda, our associations will fulfil a significant and substantial role in advising the Administration and the Congress on both the content and implementation of the Agenda. As always, CEC will work to contribute to the development of the required strategic plans and the achievement of the planned objectives while maintaining the integrity of our Principles of Government Reform. As changes in legislation, organization and processes of government and the management of human capital evolve, CEC will remain committed to contributing the expertise and leadership of its members and their organizations to the goal of achieving a government that is efficient, effective and works better for all Americans. Change that leads to improvement is our common goal. |
